Nuclear Fusion 102 - Zap Energy Explores New Z-pinch Approach To Plasma Confinement

The experimental setup creates a Z-pinch plasma that is one hundred centimeters long and one centimeter in radius. The experimental program is dedicated to exploring the relationship between sheared flows and plasma stability for possible application in nuclear fusion reactors and advanced space propulsion. The FuZE project is funded by the U.S.

Cryptid Cocktails

With cryptid creatures on my mind lately, I started to wonder... are there cryptid cocktails? Why of course there are! Why wouldn't there be? And with recipes like this one for the Sasquatch drink, there are bound to be many others!

That's why I want to know if you know of any fabulous cryptid drinks. Maybe you know of a Nessie cosmo or a Mothman Manhattan. Who knows what local drinks might be out there waiting to be replicated!

Smelling Like a Cryptid

Over at Villainous Wax this month, the theme is all things CRYPTID! Here at Weird Animal Report, we all pretty much live for cryptids of all kinds, so is it any wonder I'd be super excited about this prospect? That said, the wax melt scents are sure to be super weird since Holly, the owner of the company, is known to make them true to their characters. Just check out her master scent list if you don't believe me!

Best Ways To Use Up Produce

My poor garden never has a great abundance worth sharing. I grow enough for us to munch on--maybe enough peppers to cook for a meal or two--but that's it. I'm not the most attentive gardener, so it's not my garden's fault!

But people like my mom, who are in their gardens every single day, are able to yield quite a crop! She's constantly dropping off her extra produce at our house (which we appreciate!) and the homes of other loved ones. But what do you do when you have plenty and then some to give away?

Best Comfort Food This Week

Covid Body will probably be a thing after 2020, if it's not already. While some people can stay or even get fit during these times, others are turning to comfort foods. I don't think there's any shame in doing so during a pandemic, so what are you enjoying right now?

Thai is my favorite, as ever, but I'm also finding comfort in fried chicken now and then. My husband's mac and cheese is also quite good; it's semi-homemade with just a few things added. Potatoes of any kind are always a comfort for me, too.

The Value of Memorization

Many people find it silly, or useless at best, to memorize poems. After all, what will they ever come in handy for? But it turns out that memorizing poetry can really help you out in other areas.

For starters, if you're a debator, you can draw from your "quote bank" to really move people in your speeches. You can use quotes quickly in in-class essays, which is super helpful, and you can use them in anything from toasts to somber moments in your life. But it can also help you develop confidence, rhythm and even express your feelings in a better way.

Tadpole Season

There seem to be tadpoles everywhere lately! I've found them in cups, in still water that I've had to dump to keep the mosquitoes at bay... I've tried to move them the best I can, but what do you do when you don't want mosquitoes and you don't have any moving water available? Is moving water even safe?

Wearing Your Dessert

No, I don't mean that you should eat what you wear or vice versa--but are you one of those foodies who loves gourmand scents? Do you like to smell like your favorite desserts? Oh I do! Most of the people in my family are not fans of this practice but I'll smell like honey, sugar and vanilla as the day is long!

Right now is a great time to start smelling like baked goods, too, since a lot of the perfume sellers are breaking out the holiday scents. Love yourself some pumpkin spice, cupcakes and other baked goods? Get them while they're hot!

Your Favorite Cat Songs

Finish the lyric! "Kitty on the floor and I wan to..." Did you remember the song? I'll give you a clue: It's by POTUSA. They also sing "Peaches." Remember? That's got to be my favorite cat song, but are there really that many to begin with in the first place?

There's "Smelly Cat," of course, and there's "The Cat Came Back," which is basically a creepy kids' song but I still think it's a fun one. It might as well be about Church from Pet Semetary, right?

What is your favorite song about cats? Better yet, what songs do you SING to your cats? Share them in the chat!

Your Creepiest Decor Projects

With Halloween quickly approaching, it's time to start planning our DIY decor for the season! I really want to make those creepy ghosts made with plastic see-through trash bags this year. I bought some last year and never got around to it but they look incredible and I would love to create them.

My mom made the famous ring around the rosie ghosts last year, but they might be too on point this year with Covid since they are an allusion to the plague. Then again, maybe kids will remember their history?

What cool, creepy projects are you working on? Share them in the chat!

Footage of Ghost Girl Captured?

Recently when a family discovered that their son's grave was being desecrated by vandals, they set up cameras on his grave to capture images of the culprits only to find a little girl wandering around by herself on video.

When the family brought it to the attention of the cemetary, they were shocked to see that the little girl was one they had buried. Now her family says that her ghost has been caught on film. If you look at the photos for yourself you can clearly see her... but is it a trick?
