After seeing that Wonderful Pistachios are now selling BBQ and Salt and vinegar flavors, I thought we might share our favorite nut and seed snacks with flavor. I'm always looking for more of these since they are low in sugar and fill me up quickly. Pistachios are my favorites, but I also love sunflower seeds, peanuts, and many other snacks!
Ice cream sure gets a bad reputation for being a fatty no-no food that isn't good to eat on the regular. I happen to disagree with that but not because of the nutrition, since I do avoid a lot of ice cream if it's sugar-based. No, I disagree because everyone reacts to different foods differently, everyone knows their own bodies best and the last thing we need to be doing is shaming each other for things we don't know anything about.

They both obviously have their benefits and drawbacks, but I have found more success in the ready-made type myself. The Asiatic golden cat is an endangered species that isn't seen very often, which is why it's so cool that this one was recently seen in Cambodia. This is the first time that one has been seen in Ratanakiri province, but it's also part of an ongoing conservation effort in Virachey National Park, so hopefully it won't be a once-in-a-lifetime event.
Last week we talked about different summer crafting camps we can do or even create from home, but this week I thought we could share some of the opportunities for craft camps that you don't have to organize yourself. In the past, my family has had good experiences at both Michael's and Joanne's for kids' camps. My kiddo really enjoyed the Joanne's camps best, where they taught great skills, as opposed to Michael's, which was more of a little drop in and put kits together kind of situation.
Movie soundtracks just aren't what they used to be. I get that I sound very Boomer when I say that, but don't you agree? With a few exceptions like Into the Spiderverse, too many soundtracks just fail to really convey the mood of their movies these days. When I think of everything from Ghostbusters to Footloose to Dirty Dancing, I think of incredible soundtracks.

It is so weird to me that people would choose to wear dead animal skin in 2021, especially when said people didn't even bother to responsibly kill, harvest and prepare that fur themselves. The idea of fur being mass produced for people to consume has always been so gross to me. It's completely different from the ancient practice of indigenous people preparing skins for their livelihood and lifestyle and no mass producer should be doing it.

Anti-LGBTQ bills have raged across the nation all spring, only to have most of them defeated--and some of them passed--and Biden to announce that many of them won't be enforced since kids at school are protected by Title IX. That doesn't cover every law, though, and we still need some of these terrible laws dismantled.
Do you feel bad for the boomers and their predecessors who witnessed UFOs decades ago only to be ridiculed now that we know that they've existed this whole time? Having known SO many people who say they've seen something, I know I do. I've always been a believer but I've also been someone to hide it because of the ridicule I've seen people experience, which is just a shame.
As much as I love news articles about frog finds, TikTok videos and YouTube clips of frogs and such, my FAVORITE way to encounter a frog is in my own yard. With my dogs sometimes it's hard to do, but in the parts of my yard that aren't fenced in for them I often find little sweet critters, from geckos and chipmunks to turkeys and yes, frogs!
If you're like me, you're not a big fan of actually setting off fireworks at home, but you love to see the big pretties on display. I'd much rather we all pooled our resources for one show, on one night that everyone knows about so they can prepare for it together, than a million little dangerous shows that trigger animals and people with PTSD, cause accidents and are ultimately underwhelming.

Great news for whales and those who love them: Iceland isn't whaling this summer for the third year in a row. In face, most Icelanders don't even eat whale meat anymore! Most of the whale meat the country serves is just for tourists. Even though commercial whaling has had a ban since the 80s, whaling was heavily implemented in some areas until recently.
