"The Female Card"

Friends, are you tired of people telling you to drop the "female card"? I grew so weary of people telling me I only wanted Elizabeth Warren as president because she's a woman. For the record, I think she's a much better candidate than Sanders and have followed her for a decade, but yes, please infantilize me like that.

Best Dead Songs to Chillax To

When it comes to the Grateful Dead, it's ALL about relaxing. There aren't many songs that will stress you out, at least under normal circumstances, and most are intended for absolute good vibes.

There are so many mellow hits but I think my favorite has to be "Sugaree." No, it's not the most positive of their songs but oh I can just sit and sway to it. Can't you?

Biggest Changes Over the Years

Most TV shows evolve over time. That's totally normal, especially as they evolve to viewer tastes, political climates and so forth. Plenty of shows aged better--like Parks and Recreation, which had a rocky start--and many aged terribly, like Friends.

But Family Guy is one of those shows that's not really meant to age well. It's meant to be a cringe-worthy comedy and even so, it's still had some changes over the years. Many list sites have listed these changes but which ones have you caught?

How do you think Family Guy has changed the most? Share your thoughts in the chat!

Stop Putting Politics Over Human Lives

The United States response to the coronavirus has been abysmal at best. Even if our response had been average and on par with many other countries' responses, we'd have saved so many more lives. Calling this virus the Trump virus after the president refused to make it a priority is much fairer than saying things like masks don't work or that the death counts are overblown.

Spooky Halloween Challenge

Over at Spooky Little Halloween there is a fun Halloween contest going on to design a fun, spooky drink for the season. You can enter by designing your drink and submitting it on their Facebook page by Friday.

The only requirment is that the drink has to be purple! Otherwise it can have alcohol or not, and it can be as creative as you like. The company is hosting a similar challenge every week until Halloween so be sure to follow them.

An 80s Childhood

As a child of the 80s, I know my upbringing was a lot different from the kids' of today. Unlike many people, I'm not going to say it was better or worse, for that matter, since it's just different. A lot of people complain kids aren't outside with friends as much as they were in the past, for example, but as a parent I know that a lot of this is due to not only lack of other kids around to play with, but conflicting schedules. Lots of kids have activities, classes, tutoring and even jobs that make it difficult for them to all be outside at once.

Best Halloween Drinking Games

Drinking games are a great way to have fun and enjoy a few laughs, especially while you're at home under quarantine. Halloween drinking games are great for celebrating the holiday at home, too!

Some of my favorite Halloween drinking games involve drinking every time a horror trope happens on screen during a movie. Say the hero or heroine runs upstairs, or assumes the killer is really dead, or does something else you know to be a mistake. Drink up! It's even more fun when you point it out with friends.

All the PSL!

It's PSL season officially and I'm seeing it everywhere! Starbucks, Dairy Queen, Dunkin... if they have coffee or ice cream, chances are they'll have pumpkin spice latte!

I'm not as big a fan of PSL as many people. I like to have it a couple of times throughout the season but I like other flavors, like apple, much better. Still, I love how it tells us fall is arriving!
