Nuclear fusion is a process that combines light elements in a plasma which is a hot, charged state of matter composed of free electrons and atomic nuclei. Physicists are working to create controlled nuclear fusion in a stable process that releases large amounts of energy. This technology would be safer and cheaper than using nuclear fission to generate electricity.

Loving a pet is always difficult when it's that animal's time to die, and there are pets I feel like I still haven't recovered from losing in my life. So it's no wonder that when a pet that's become an Internet sensation dies we all feel it hard.
There's never a shortage of weird news on the Internet, and here are just a few stories that I've read about this week.
Aliens are real, or so says the former manager of the DOD Aerospace Threat Program. Honestly is anyone really surprised, though? It would be a really small universe if we were the only signs of intelligent life in it!
Lately I am all about the Skinny Mixes! These things have zero calories, zero carbs and zero sugar, making them perfect for people who are watching any of those components or who just want to lighten their caloric intake when it comes to holiday drinks this year. I've tried several kinds, from the Salted Caramel Mocha to the Christmas Cookie, and have found many of them to be fabulous.
Since I reviewed my purchase of Jordan's Skinny Mixes' Christmas Cookie, which I LOVED, I thought I'd share my thoughts on two other flavors I tried this week, which were Cookie Dough and Salted Caramel Mocha.
Let's start with the bad, which was Cookie Dough. Ugh. It did not taste like cookie dough, or cookies, chocolate or anything yummy. I tried it in coffee and in almond milk and both times it tasted gross. In the almond milk it almost tasted like grass! So that one's definitely not for me. Maybe it's just my tastes.
The first time I realized that many physicians deviate from evidence-based medicine was when I heard one doctor, which turned out to be the first of many, tell me that I needed to go on a diet. Despite being athletic and having a strong heart and good blood pressure at the time, each doctor I saw had a boon to pick with me. Not only did they ignore my good numbers and the fact that I already worked out daily, but they also ignored the fact that most diets fail. That's pretty much going against evidence, right?
My teen learned about Poe by first reading The Tell-Tale Heart during Halloween season, just like I did. Every year since we've read a story or two, but we hadn't really looked at the poems as much (save for "The Raven" and "The Black Cat"), so I thought we'd check out a similar book to the Robert Frost one we'd looked at last week.
When you're dealing with hanger and the many issues it brings, everything feels so much harder than it is, right? For me, it means getting angry and snipping at everything and everyone, which I know is ridiculous! I'll get really quiet and my husband will guess that I'm hangry because I'm trying not to be a grouch.
Imagine calling for a mate and getting eaten by a predator instead! That's what happens to many poor frogs, since their mating calls don't only alert other frogs to their positions, but predators like frog-eating flies also use the sound to track their prey.
If you love to play games at every family gathering like my family does, you're probably already planning which Christmas games you'll play this year. The Spruce has the ultimate list of making EVERYTHING into a game, from the number of ornaments on your tree to Christmas Carol pictionary, and any of those 30+ games could work well for a family event.
While I love to eat at home with my family and friends, I also love to eat out for different holidays. We always do for Easter now, and last year we did for Thanksgiving and it was lovely. I do think it's important to support businesses who pay good holiday pay and employees who actually want to work the holidays, though. I used to be one when I was young, before motherhood. Double pay? Heck yeah, it was great as a student. I do wish that people who really don't want to work could choose not to, because I'm sure many can't.
Lists about the best and worst of our favorite TV shows, characters and other pop culture topics are all the rage and it's fun to rank our favorite (and least favorite!) parts about our fandoms. Screen Rant just published an article about the worst thing each characters on the show have done, and I think many of them are on point.
Meredith Russo is an incredible writer who has endured a lot in her life, and my family has found her to be an inspiring author. Then the news of her abuse allegations came out and I got sick reading about them. I know many women who've been in abusive situations like this and to think that Russo may have acted this way toward her wife is disturbing, to say the least.
It's the time of year when I get so excited about different ornaments. While we have plenty of silver balls, Santas and Snowmen, I also love to make ornaments of X-Men, Hellboy, Star Wars... you get the idea. Last year our TARDIS was our favorite ornament of the year! This year I'm thinking about adding some Totally 80s ornaments along with the demogorgon one I'm planning. How about you?
If there's one ornament on my to-make list this year, it's the Die Hard one of John McClane climbing through the air ducts.
The Chicago Tribune is running a piece about what the Grateful Dead's next album might have sounded like had they had a chance to make one, which has my mind spinning. How about yours? Think of the possibilities here--not only in terms of that album and other albums that might have been made, but with the band's work in general.
